Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI)

We have developed our own highly sensitive and specific STI testing that takes advantage of molecular assay technology. Using RT-PCR, we can detect several pathogens responsible for sexually transmitted infections. Our technique is newly developed, highly sensitive, highly specific, and currently only available through our lab.

Commonly found STI/STD pathogens include:

  • Chlamydia (Chlamydia trachomatis)
  • Gardnerella vaginalis
  • Gonorrhea (Neisseria gonorrhoeae)
  • Haemophilus ducreyi
  • Herpes Simplex 1 and 2
  • HPV (human papillomavirus 16, 18 and 45)
  • Mycoplasma genitalium
  • Syphilis (Treponema pallidum)
  • Trichomoniasis (Trichomonas vaginalis)
  • Ureaplasma (urealyticum and parvum)
